Summer Looks in Women Plus Sizes

June 1st, 2010 No comments

If you are a plus-size woman, summer is probably the time that makes you feel insecure with clothes. In this time, people show off some skin to relieve from heat. Comfortable breezy summer clothing is mostly available and you may not be sure how you look with this attire. Don’t worry. There are ways to wear clothing that will help you look slimmer and feel better.

For one, wear one color or colors close to each other as tops and bottoms. This will give off the impression that you are taller than you are. So to give off a little more proportionate weight, wear plus sizes outfit that is similar in color.

Another way is to wear women plus sizes clothing that fits you well. If you think wearing loose clothes will help hide weight, think again. Wearing loose plus sizes sometimes create an appearance that you have added weight. Instead of wearing them this summer, look for clothes that’s right for your size.

Finally, don’t be pressured to show off some skin. Hide your bulges if you must but just remember to be trendy as well. For example, if you want to hide biceps and belly, you don’t have to force yourself to wear strapless tops just because its summer. You can wear Sabrina-style necklines and tops with length that reaches the lower hips. The Sabrina style will hide bulges in your upper arm and the long length will cover your belly. The whole idea is to be fashionable in the summer yet be sure to choose clothes that make you feel better and look your best.

Finding Spring and Summer Baby Clothes to Fit All Sizes!

May 22nd, 2010 No comments

Since babies do grow so fast, you don’t want to get clothing that is a perfect fit for babies as they are now, you want to get clothes that your baby can grow into and yet are comfortable for them. You will want your baby to have clothes that are fashionable yet functional. Not only will you want your babies clothes to fit comfortably, but you will also want a comfortable fabric. Lets not forget affordability. You don’t want to pay a hefty price for clothing that are going to be discarded in a few months. These are all things that come to mind when preparing to purchase baby clothing. So here are some helpful tips to get you on your way.

Lets talk about price and affordability first. As mentioned earlier babies grow first during their first year so it’s probably not a good idea to get a lot of clothes at once. Just get a few things at a time and when baby looks like they’re about to out grow those buy some more. This will not only help your budget, but will also keep you from having loads of discarded baby clothes lying around. Buying clothes in packs can also help you save money, they are usually cheaper and usually have different designs as well. You might also consider buying from second hand or thrift stores. Clothes are always cheaper from these places.

First and foremost on your mind should be your baby’s comfort, not only because you want your baby to be comfortable, but also because if your baby is uncomfortable he or she is going to be cranky. There was mention of clothing size. This should be a size that your baby can grow into, but not so big that the baby is swallowed up or have sleeves and pant legs flopping around. The fabric of the clothing should be something that allows air to get through so baby’s skin can breath, something that’s maybe high in cotton that doesn’t irritate the baby’s skin. Your baby’s clothes will also take some punishment with spilling, vomiting, crawling and washing so they should be durable.

Here’s a tip that is mainly for the parents comfort. Buy baby clothing that have those metal snap buttons rather than the regular buttons. The snap buttons make it easier and faster to open and close baby’s clothes. This is great if you’re in a hurry or if baby is agitated. Snaps give you easier access for diaper changes. Especially those cold changes when you want to hurry and get baby back into some warm clothes. Snaps are also safer. Unlike regular buttons there is no risk of snaps being pulled off and swallowed by baby.

You may want to consider purchasing one pieces over sets when buying baby clothes. Take into consideration that when a baby feeds their belly starts to swell. A set consists of two pieces a top and pants or skirt considering whether it’s a girl or boy. The bottom part of the outfit is usually held up by an elastic band around the baby’s stomach. This can cause discomfort, as baby’s belly gets bigger and cause baby to be cranky. A one-piece outfit on the other hand is usually roomy, allowing for the belly growth with no discomfort. One pieces can also be used to replace socks. Babies tend to pull socks off or leave them lying on the floor as they crawl along their way. But with a one piece that has footies those problems are solved.

The last thing I want to mention is buying clothes for babies that wear non-disposable nappies. This comes with its own set of problems when it comes to buying baby clothes. First you have to consider the size of the baby along with the nappy, what clothes will be better for dealing with the nappy and what non-disposable nappies are best for baby. As far as size goes buy clothes that are a little larger than your baby needs. In this case two-piece sets are a better idea than one pieces. To consider what non-disposable nappies are best, you should try out a few and decide which ones are best for you and your baby.

Every parent wants to make sure that the clothes they get for their baby is comfortable and safe. Getting spring and summer clothes for your baby can seem like a daunting and difficult task. But by just figuring out a few important points and considering your needs as well as your baby’s needs you can take the difficulty out of buying baby clothes and have a happy well clothed baby.
