DELAWARE, Ohio – (Business Wire) Medischedule.com, a provider of online clinic scheduling and medical scheduling technology, has completed an implementation with the Delaware, Ohio-based Delaware General Health District.
Globally, doctors schedule approximately 8 billion patient office visits per year, and an estimated 1 billion outpatient visits are made to hospitals. In addition, an estimated 250 million hospital admissions are made per year. Approximately 4-5 million office personnel manage these events; nearly 100% of the time via telephone communication.

According to a case study provided by the Delaware General Health District, the agency used eMedischedule.com, an online medical appointment scheduling system, to book appointments for a recent H1N1 inoculation clinic. During the clinic, which lasted from Dec. 15 until Dec. 22, staff at the Delaware General Health District were able to schedule 3686 appointments using eMedischedule.com over the seven day period.

According to the agency, “Medischedule.com has reduced the use of public health resources that would be have to be used if we continued with mass clinics.” The Delaware General Health District also stated that its use of eMedischedule.com led to an efficient clinic flow, with none of 3686 clients having to wait more than 10 to 20 minutes. The agency was able to manage the entire clinic with eight employees.

“With the high number of patients awaiting H1N1 vaccination, health agencies simply cannot afford to allocate staff to clinic appointment scheduling,” said Taylan Saydar, CEO of Medischedule.com. “Rather, they must, like the Delaware General Health District, focus their effort and resources on awareness and clinic operations.”
